As a dedicated creative professional, I have had the privilege of providing my services for a variety of poetry events that also centered around painting. Some of the notable events I have been involved in include Sip, Paint and Reflect, PaintSpiration: Reflect and Paint!, The Power of Poetry in You, Kaleidoscope: Women of Color Reflection on Life, Women Are Poetry in Motion Every Day in Every Way, and Kaleidoscope: A Writing Club.

My mission is to use my artistic talents to inspire and uplift individuals through the power of poetry and painting. I am committed to creating meaningful experiences that resonate with audiences and leave a lasting impact.

With a strong background in both painting and poetry, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My abstract paintings have been featured in various exhibitions and events, showcasing my versatility and creativity. I also possess a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of color theory, allowing me to create visually stunning pieces that captivate viewers.

One of my proudest achievements was having my painting, "Summer Blossoms", featured on the book cover of Kaleidoscope: Women of Color Reflection on Life. I have also exhibited my artwork at prestigious venues such as the National City Christian Church in Washington, D.C. and donated pieces to organizations like Esther Productions, Inc.

Waves of Life, Ocean Waves and Inflation

Ocean Waves is an abstract painting created in 2023 and features a captivating swirl of blue and green, evoking the dynamic essence of ocean waves. The fluid composition reflects the swift flow of life, with varying shades that symbolize growth and transformation. Inflation created in 2022 and based on the personal and professional experiences that Ms. Afrika Abney encountered as a black female from America and living in America. Swirls and shades of purple blend into one another, creating an abstract and immersive visual experience. Hints of light blue peek through, adding a contrasting highlight to the darker hues.

Dating Ethics

Dating co-workers in professional work settings is inappropriate. When employers hire me to provide a specific service as a consultant, I will always remain professional. I do not believe in dating my former co-workers of the opposite sex. I will remove myself from the setting first when I have noticed that I developed such attraction.
