African - American Journey. Digital art created on canvas. August 14, 2024. Afrika Abney Growing up in the vibrant city of Washington, DC, I have been shaped by the rich tapestry of experiences that come with being an African-American woman. My journey is deeply rooted in the history and culture of my community, which has inspired me to express my identity through art. One of my most significant artistic expressions is a piece I titled "African-American Journey." This abstract digital painting is a celebration of my pride in my culture, utilizing a diverse palette of browns and blacks to convey the depth and richness of the African-American experience. Each stroke and shade represents not only my personal narrative but also the collective stories of resilience, strength, and beauty
