I grew up in America and in Ward 7 neighborhood. I grew up examining the colors, textures, and materials available to me searching for answers to the many questions floating within me. I grew up in a household without my siblings and father absence. Thus, I consider myself like an only child and alone in a world filled with racism, discrimination, prejudice, violence and corruption. I express my experiences that I have encountered through my visual artwork. Painting the world, society and community that I have witnessed as a black female in America using dull, vibrant, and dark colors. You ask me time and time again, how was growing up in America for me? I say all the time, it was an experience filled with sorrow, trauma, grief, hope, and absence. As I have mentioned numerous times, I have no idea what you are discussing because I am minding my own business. Sometimes, my ideas wake me up from my restful sleep, but I do wind up going back to sleep. The ideas of inclusiveness, sincerity, and compassion where racism and discrimination no longer exists.

The purpose of sharing my digital art that I have created has nothing to do with relationships nor friendships. It has to do with the experiences, symbolism behind the colors and the principles related to creating my digital art.  According to my research, “deep dark red represents determination, warmth and depth, while crimson and red symbolizes courage and creativity.”

I created this digital abstract painting along with the many others at my home. It is inspired by the symbolism derived from the shades of blue such as loyalty, commitment, dedication and trust. “The color blue has long been intertwined with various forms of creative expression, including visual arts, poetry, and prose. Its calming and serene qualities often evoke deep emotions and symbolizes themes of introspection, depth, hope, and inspiration.”

  “My YouTube channel, which was unexpectedly removed yesterday, had no violations or issues that warranted such action. For the past seven years, I have dedicated my time to sharing my digital art and offering consulting services through this platform. The abrupt removal of my channel has left me perplexed and frustrated, as I have always adhered to the community guidelines and worked diligently to build a positive presence.” Whomever thinks that these types of experiences are humorous are mistaken. I have been providing services as a consultant since I was 15 years old and as an African - American, I am quite frankly tired of experiencing discrimination which I have been experiencing for over 30 years.

Light blue instills principles such as tranquility and understanding, both are crucial in the creation of art. Whereas, medium blue instills principles such as trust, creativity, calm and importance. Each of these aspects are significant in understanding the elements for creativity and the ability to trust that the final product will lead to successful results. Lastly, dark blue instills integrity which lies in the concept of doing the right thing.” I chose shades of blue to create my digital abstract painting because of the symbolism and the harmony between each shade.
